Senior Set Plans | ![]() |
Just as we are able to benefit from medical technologies to help us live longer and healthier lives, so can your pet. Our furry family members live much longer lives now than in years past, due to the advances in veterinary medicine. Just as in people, your pet’s senior years can be filled with a high quality life and health. We are now able to keep their life and companionship far longer than in years past, due to the high quality of medical care available to our pets today.
One of the best ways to provide early intervention, treatment and a continued high quality of life is through preventative health care screening. This enables us to catch disease in its early stages and to offer care and treatment to control, slow or even stop the disease process. We feel you will agree with us that the love and devotion your pet has offered over the years is invaluable and something you want to keep as long as possible.
To help with this, we offer a comprehensive health screening for senior pets. The age at which your pet achieves senior status varies with breed, species and size. In general the following guidelines apply:
| Dogs: | ||
| Small/Med Breed | < 50 lbs | (8 - 9 years) |
| Large Breed | 51-90 lbs | (5 - 6 years) |
| Giant Breed | 91-180> lbs | (5 - 6 years) |
| Cats: | (8 to 9 years) |
We recommend a complete health care screening once per year for pets that meet the above age guidelines. Remember that your pet ages on an average of seven years for every one of yours.
These programs are designed to benefit older pets and their human family members. Pets benefit because early detection of geriatric disorders allows for better management of these disorders, minimizing pain and improving quality of life. Pet owners benefit from a substantial savings offered when the services are provided as a package.
